What's the benefit about knowing the position of the Grand Duke for each year?
This is because sitting opposite or facing the Grand Duke will bring you
misfortune, calamity, disaster or defeat.
How to improve your environment after knowing the Grand Duke Theory?
Avoid sitting in a direction facing the grand duke as this will bring
disasters and grave misfortune in that year.
I am interpreting the first explanation to say do not sit facing the Grand
Duke and I am interpreting the second explanation to say do not face the Grand Duke.
I am okay with so far, but then you say "For example, if the Grand Duke is in the North Direction, then sit facing North." Isn't this the same as facing the Grand Duke?
What I need to know is this year the Grand Duke is East, 90 Degree. Should I sit facing East or West?
Overall, the Grand Duke Theory for most of us is related only to the renovation of our home. That is this theory is widely used by Feng Shui Masters to guide home owners and caution them where not to do a major renovation.
Other than this, you need not be concerned with the Grand Duke Theory although it has one portion that says about the `sleeping' position. For `sleeping' position, it would be best to use the Eight House Theory i.e. if your North direction e.g. is a good or auspicious direction e.g Health, Prosperity, Longevity or Excellent, then you should try to sleep with your >Head, facing this good direction.

User's Comments After browsing many many feng shui sites, I came to one conclusion: your site is the most sensible, reasonable and helpful one of all. I've been to sites where they want to sell you just about anything and everything. The information they are willing to give is so trivial and one senses that the only thing they are interested in is to make money and sell you products that might and might not fit in with your decor or your culture, and of course doesn't serve the purpose of curing and or enhancing. Sorry for the long message, but I have a friend who spent a fortune buying all types of figurines to cure then to enhance and then eventually all she got was more figures on her credit card and no luck! I believe that what one should do is get your advise first because it makes so much sense and it is always sincere. I also believe that people should buy things that pleases their eye and provide a sense of beauty and balance. Again sorry for the long message and thank you for a wonderful site.
